DROP'EM OFF

it is now time to drop off the scraps you've been lovingly collecting.

let's go over some dropoff etiquette so everyone has a pleasant dropoff experience
Picture

Reduce pests and odors by following these steps:
1. 💡 Keep your scrap container shut tight.
2. 💡 Don't keep scraps inside your kitchen for more than a day. Transfer scraps into a larger container placed outside - preferably in your yard or patio.
3. 💡 Layer your scraps with mulch, ash or charcoal. Mulch is available at all Food2Soil dropoff hubs.
4.💡  Freeze your scraps if you aren't able to drop them off every week.
5. 💡 Place your bucket in a shallow pool of water to get rid of ants.

At Food2Soil we treat all bags (with the exception of paper bags) like trash. This includes plastic bags and the so called biodegradable and compostable bags which disintegrate into tiny shreds of thingamajigs which are neither plastic nor plant.

We try our best to get these out when we are building the piles...breaking the bags open to empty the scraps and then discarding the bags in the garbage bin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Please save yourself money and save us time by not using them. All Food2Soil dropoff hubs are bag-free. Empty your scraps into the carts and then cover your scraps with the biofilter material provided at every hub.

Every bucket of scraps that makes its way into the compost pile makes an impact. The act of composting (v/s landfilling) prevents CO2 from being released into the atmosphere. The microorganisms in the compost (finished product resulting from the process of composting) furthur sequester CO2, doubling the impact!

HOW TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR IMPACT
  1. Open the Rot On App.
  2. Click on the green flash button on your dashboard.
  3. Subscription Plan Participants - record the volume (in gallons) of the scraps you dropped off. Also rate your dropoff experience.
  4. Bucket Drop Participants - we keep track of your drops automatically but please rate your dropoff experience.
